Am I a good candidate for testing?

  • AGE: The request must be for you or for your minor child between the ages of 9 and 17. Individuals age 18 and older must request their own access and complete paperwork for HIPAA reasons.

  • AVAILABILITY: Age 16+ must be available for their entire intake appointment and should have an understanding of what they are doing prior to the appointment. Children under the age of 16 must be present for the last 15 minutes of the appointment.

  • AUTISM: We do not administer the ADOS-2, which is required by many insurance companies and disability services for full diagnosis. We also do not provide evaluations for individuals seeking testing only for the purposes of an Autism diagnosis. If you are convinced you have an autism diagnosis from TikTok, our views of autism criteria do not align with current trends on social media and we are likely not the best fit for your testing needs. For a list of providers that do perform the ADOS please check our Resources page.

  • LEARNING DISABILITY TESTING: Our office does provide this testing (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia), but this is considered a non-covered service by insurance companies because it is considered to be academic and not medically necessary. The standard battery of testing that is covered by insurance can help with clarification on ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Eating Disorders, as well as various types of personality disorders.

  • TIMELINE: Testing is a three step process; 1) Video intake appointment 30-45 minutes 2) In-person testing appointment one 3-5 hour session and 3) Video feedback session 30-45 minute appointment to go over findings and recommendations. The entire process, from intake to feedback, can take up to six months. (Testing and eval for surgical clearance (bari/scs) is shorter)

  • INSURANCE: We accept most all insurances, after forms are completed we will do a courtesy benefits check. Every policy coverage is different, you can call your plan and ask what your coverage is for psychological testing, if you would like to know before completing forms.

  • Bariatric/SCS Pre-Operative Evaluations, or Therapy: please call the office at 781-287-8676 x2
