Psychological questions in workers’ compensation
A psychology medical-legal evaluation addresses the questions identified through the workers’ compensation process. Relevant areas may include symptoms and diagnosis, reported functional change, treatment history and needs, and cognitive or emotional concerns. The evaluator reviews the referral scope and relevant evidence before forming an opinion.
Clinical findings must be considered in relation to the applicable medical-legal question. A diagnosis alone does not resolve every question about an injury, impairment, or the relationship between work and a condition.
QME and AME are different pathways
A panel QME is selected through California’s workers’ compensation process. An agreed medical evaluator is chosen by agreement in a represented matter. A general website inquiry does not replace either process or guarantee an appointment.
Dr. Long accepts panel QME and AME assignments in psychology within her qualifications and availability. Confirm the examination location, selection documentation, scheduling contact, and required notices before making arrangements.
Records and communications
Before forwarding records or discussing the substance of a case, confirm the applicable exchange-of-information and communication requirements with counsel or the responsible claims professional. QME and AME matters have restrictions on communications with the evaluator.
The office can clarify administrative scheduling and the appropriate records-transfer pathway. Do not send client names, claim information, medical records, or substantive case arguments through an initial website email.
